I began working at Locke Funeral Home in 1987.  At that time, “pre-need” was just coming of age in funeral homes.  If I was going to go into the funeral business, well then I was fortunate to have started out with Locke Funeral Home.  They immediately sent me to training with a company in Sioux Falls, SD and then incorporated their own unique approach to the pre-need program: to be able to help, organize, and record an individual’s final instructions and wishes- and without the pressure to buy anything! Then to further evolve with the desire to be the best Lockes can be, we developed a distinctive after-care program to continue the concern AFTER the funeral.

I am grateful to live in the Cedar Valley where I am active in the Waterloo Community Theatre and Easy Risers Kiwanis Club.

I have appreciated Lockes’ attitude and care of the people they serve and of they people the employ.   It is my goal to continue that tradition and be an example of that attitude.
