Arthur W. Weiland, 89, of Waterloo, died at Parkview Nursing & Rehab Center on Friday, February 5, 2010. He was born on July 6, 1920 in Britt, Iowa, son of William and Alice Carl Weiland.
He served in the Army Air Corp during WWII.
He married Edna M. Johnson December 19, 1952 in Waterloo. Mr. Weiland worked at John Deere for 36 years, retiring as an inspector in 1985.
Mr. Weiland is survived by his wife Edna of Waterloo, son Dan Funk and his wife Linda of Waterloo, son Bill Weiland and his wife Dodie of Lake Lotawana, Missouri, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and brother Phillip Weiland of Las Vegas, Nevada.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son James A. Funk, brother Bud Weiland, and three sisters Sally Sonerholm, Gail Garman, and Ruth Loonan.
