Marlys Morse, 83, of Waterloo, Iowa and formerly of Cedar Falls, died at the Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 of natural causes. Marlys Lorraine McRoberts was born February 10, 1927 in Waterloo, Iowa, daughter of William and Harriett Swede McRoberts. She married Calvin Gronewold Morse on April 6, 1947 in Waterloo. He died March 27, 1974. Marlys graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1945 and attended McPherson College in McPherson, Kansas, from 1945‑1946. She was the accountant/bookkeeper at Carney Alexander Marold from 1979‑1997. Marlys is survived by her daughter Lucinda Tabb of Waterloo; three sons: Dean and his wife Pam of Columbia, Tennessee, Wayne and his wife Mary of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, and Patrick and his wife Heidi of Waterloo; six grandchildren: Diane Toon, Chanelle Owens, James Morse, Daniel Morse, Katie Morse and Jennifer Singer; nine great grandchildren: Brianna Toon, Rebekah Toon, Cameron Toon, Keagan Dircks, Annica Morse, Andrew Owens, Alyssa Owens, Shelden Mauer and Mary Mauer; and two sisters: Virginia Miller and her husband Steve of Independence, Iowa and Caryl Button and her husband Gary of Eldora, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Janice Marilyn Morse and two brothers: Kenneth Wayne McRoberts and Donald Eugene McRoberts.
