Biography Information
Duane E. Wolff, 68, of Dunkerton died Friday, August 12, 2011 at Covenant Medical Center from complications of heart surgery.
Duane was born September 3, 1942 in Sumner, Iowa the son of Paul and Doretta Warnke Wolff. He graduated from Dunkerton High School in 1962 and served in the U.S. Army from 1962 until 1965.
Duane married Gayle Larson November 16, 1968 in Waterloo. He worked for John Deere for 35 years retiring as an inspector in 1999.
He loved the outdoors, spending time camping, hunting, and fishing. Duane enjoyed woodworking and spending time in his vegetable garden. After his retirement he bowled in leagues at Maple Lanes. Above all else Duane was a good grandpa.
He is survived by his wife Gayle of Dunkerton, a son Dan Wolff and his wife Denise of Norwalk, a daughter Sara Boner and her husband Brian of Monroe, Grandchildren: Michael, Melissa, and Lane Boner; Nathan and Leah Wolff. He is also survived by his mother Doretta Seehase of Sumner, four brothers: Robert (Marian) Wolff of Waterloo, Harold (Charlene) Wolff of Weaver, Wilbert (Beverly) Wolff of Dunkerton, and Dennis (Carol) Wolff of Oelwein, and a brother-in-law Gordon Kalenske of Dunkerton.
Duane is preceded in death by a daughter Kay in infancy, grandson James Boner in infancy, father, step father Edwin Seehase, brother Charles Wolff, sister Dianna Kalenske

I was so sorry to read of Duane's death in the Courier. I always enjoyed his friendship, the class reunions, and getting to organize one of them with Duane and Dennis. We were at our son's campground during the funeral so were not able to attend.
He will be missed by many. You are all in our thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks ahead.
