Bob was my CHEMISTRY teacher at West High 1959-1960. Good guy. I lined him up for a date with a friend of my mother. He and Virginia Azbill were lifelong friends. Rest in Peace.

My late husband, Frank Vilmain, and Bob shared an office at West High for many years and he became a close friend to all our family. We moved to Santa Fe, NM in 2000, but remained in contact with Bob through the years. He'll be missed.

Bob and Carol were long time colleagues at West. Unfortunately, Bob retired before he could teach chemistry to our boys. He was a man who loved his profession, and it showed. Students came first with Bob. His was a life well lived.

Mr. Johnson was such a important part of my life -- present at every family celebration, always laughing and cheerful and encouraging. He was a great friend, and will be missed.

Mr. Johnson was truly one of my best and favorite teachers at West High, and I was always happy to run into him (often at McDonalds) when I was back in Waterloo. I know that he is and will be missed by his former students. He was always thoughtful and caring, wrapped in his great sense of humor and love for his job. As always, we must all "Go for the mole!"
