Suzanne and I are saddened to learn of Paul's passing. Paul was a positive influence on both of us, Dean as a police science student who benefitted from Paul's guidance and vast knowledge of forensics and Suzanne as secretary for Paul, "Captain" John Boots and Jerry Jensen. Our heart-felt condolences to Bertha and Paul's family.

My most heart-felt condolences to Paul's family. Paul was a wonderful human being and one of the very best teachers a person in law enforcement could have ever had.

Our kids have grown up with stories of the exploits of the Brand family and the Stapella family. What treasured memories we have of Paul. He made all our lives happier. Cudos to Paul for the wonderful friend he was to my dad, Merle. Remember the clown shoe swathed in gauze that Paul gave Dad when Daddy's toes were cut off? Daddy treasured that shoe! We will miss Paul, but know that he and Dad are up to some shenanigans now that they are together again. Our sympathy goes out to Bertha, Stan, Cliff, and the rest of the family for your loss. What a wonderful man Paul was.

Mark and I both had Capt. Stapella as an instructor at Hawkeye in 1974 & 1975. We felt he was a great teacher and an even greater human being. He was always respectful and caring towards his students. He was a soft spoken man with great integrity and set an example for others. Those types of people are few and far between. May he be enjoying his new assignment in Heaven.

I am so sorry to hear of his passing, He and Bertha were long time friends of my mother and Dad. I have in my living room a corner table that he made for my parents.
It is still beautiful.
