Biography Information
Wanda Miehe, 83, of Waterloo died Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at her home.
Wanda was born February 16, 1928 in Banks Township, Fayette County, Iowa the daughter of Edwin and Inid Anders Pagel. She graduated from Oelwein High School in 1946.
Wanda married Herbert R. Miehe on February 27, 1953 in Oelwein Iowa. He died March 13, 2003. She was a homemaker for most of her life but also worked as airline hostess and office assistant for Dr. Carl A. Hansen. Wanda was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Oelwein.
Wanda passed peacefully at home with her family near her. A kind, caring, loving, and sometimes a little stubborn person. We’ll all miss you mom, love you. Bless your heart. A special thanks to Mom’s special angels at Cedar Valley Hospice – Dr. Deters, Jennifer, and Michelle.
Wanda is survived by two sons: Michael C. Miehe and his wife Cindy of Waterloo and Burk A. Miehe and his wife Julie of Buckingham. She is survived by five grandchildren: Christopher (Tara) Miehe, Andrew (Christa) Miehe, Blake Miehe, Beth Miehe, and Stephanie Miehe; four great grandchildren: Emily, Nolan, Evangeline and Clark Miehe; and many nieces and nephews.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Robert, and sisters Thelma and Wanita.

You and your family have my deepest sympathy on the death of your mother. Wanda was a special woman. She raised two great sons and I know she was proud of both of you. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
