Biography Information

John E. Redding, 62, of Waterloo died Thursday, November 17, 2011 at his home following a lengthy illness.  John was born January 1, 1949 in Waterloo the son of Clifford and Merle Flaherty Redding.

He graduated from Columbus High School in 1967 and received two BAs from UNI - Business in 1979 and Accounting in 1987.

John became a licensed public account with the IRS in 1989. He operated John Redding LPA EA on Falls Ave.  He taught for several years at Upper Iowa University and was the Dean of Finance and taught at the Business Institute.

John was an avid outdoorsman.  He loved fishing, camping, and hiking.  He enjoyed canoeing and fishing in the Superior National Forest.  He loved live music.  He loved his long-time friends, many who comforted him his last few days.

John is survived by a brother Daniel (Ranele Kolthoff) Redding of Waterloo, a niece Shelley (Kevin) Rose of Waterloo, a nephew Dr. Justin Redding of Seattle, Washington and his beloved dog Hank.  He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Marie Redding.

We are very sorry to hear of John's passing. He was such a nice man and honest businessman. He was our personal and businesses accountant for many years and we valued his expertise and advise greatly. We will all miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

I was taken back when I heard of John's passing on Tuesday. In fact I was upset because I would have been there with you. He was a dear friend and a wonderful person that will be missed.
