Biography Information

Rodney D. Dickson, 62, of Waterloo, died at Covenant Medical Center on Sunday, December 4, 2011 of a heart attack.

Rodney Dwight Dickson was born November 21, 1949 of Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Dwight T. and Erma L. Gramenz Dickson. He married Jane E. Sackett on July 5, 1991 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

He graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1968. Rodney was an over-the-road truck driver for most of his life, driving for several companies and most recently with Seegers Truckline of Denver, Iowa.

He served in the US Army from 1970 to 1972, receiving an honorable discharge.

Rodney is survived by his wife Jane of Waterloo, son Josh (Munkyong) Fouts of Seoul, Korea, daughter Jennifer Petalver of Waterloo, two grandchildren: Dakota Petalver and Kiera Cabrera, and his brother Dean (Jan) Dickson of Anita, Iowa.

He is preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Kayla Reanne Petalver.

I had the pleasure of meeting Rodney when he came to Lakeland, Fl to visit my parents Barb & Buzz Jensen. I am saddened by his sudden loss. My thoughts and prayers are with his family & friends. He will be greatly missed.

Very sorry to hear about Rodney. I've known him since the late 60's. I always enjoyed seeing him and talking about the past. He will be missed but never forgotten.

Jane, I'm so sad to hear about Uncle Rodney passing. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I still remember playing putt-putt golf with you and Rodney back in the late 1980's when you two were dating....You put a smile on his face and in his heart. Kindest Regards, Julie

I was very sorry to hear of Rodney's passing. I knew him from when I worked at Seegers Truck Line. He was always kind and respectful and always had a story to tell, ending in a hearty chuckle. I am blessed for having known him.
