Biography Information
Carrie “Maxine” Pearson, 94, of Hudson, Iowa, died at Covenant Medical Center on Sunday, December 18, 2011.
She was born February 13, 1917 in Bremer County, Iowa, the daughter of Chester and Zola Johnson Call. She graduated from Waterloo West High School.
Maxine married Kenneth Morrow Pearson on November 27, 1937 in Cedar Rapids; he died January 17, 1991.
She was a homemaker in her own home taking care of her family. Maxine enjoyed sewing, crocheting, etc. She was very crafty and creative with her hands. She made beautiful wedding and birthday cakes.
Maxine was a member of Hudson United Methodist Church and was past President of United Methodist Church Women, and a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was also past President of Good Luck Club, Farm Bureau Ladies past President and Historian, and took part in the neighborhood country club. Maxine was active in 4-H and a leader for many years.
She is survived by her son Jim (Pat) Pearson of Hudson; daughter Karol (Jerry) Schmidt of Hudson; daughter Kathy Pearson of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren: Chad (Lisa) Schmidt, Michelle (Pat) Wrage, Kami (Mike) King, Ashlee (Wes) Klingaman, and Angela Pearson; four step-grandchildren: Joan, Janet, Kevin, and Kelly; seven great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Krista and Cody Schmidt, Austin and Connor Wrage, and Jared and Brody King; and brother Gilbert Call of Cedar Falls.
Maxine is preceded in death by her husband, grandson Bret Lee Schmidt and two sisters Marguerite Sullivan and Dorothea in infancy.
