Dear Robyn and Lee,
I remember you from our childhood when you lived over on Second Ave.in Waterloo. Your dad was a kind and gentle man. He had a way of making everyone feel important. I know what it is like to lose your dad as my dad, Russell Peterson, passed away Sept. 19, 2011. May you be surrounded by the love of family and friends at this difficult time.

I worked with Bob for over 20 years at Porter’s and he was a true gentleman. He was always gracious to co-workers, vendor sales representatives and everyone else he came into contact with. I couldn’t have asked for a better boss, mentor and friend. He was fair and reasonable with all his expectations, quick to compliment good work, and tactful and helpful when work needed to be revised. When Bob retired in 1997, I assumed his duties and could not have done so without him teaching the craft so selflessly to me. During his retirement, we stayed in touch with occasional lunches and Christmas cards. When a card from Bob didn’t arrive this Christmas like usual, I feared his health was on the decline. I am saddened by his passing and extend my heartfelt condolences to Robyn, Lee and your families. Bob was a great man.

Robert was my grandfather's brother, so great uncle... I never met him, but I mourn his death with the rest of you. It's amazing how time takes a single person's life and spreads it so widely over generations. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
