We are sorry to hear about the passing of this wonderful lady. She lived in our building at the Western Home and we enjoyed seeing her every night and talking with her at dinner. Her table and her loved to see how many soup cups they could stack before it would fall over or until we couldn't carry them back to the kitchen. My (Jenna's) first day there, she told me how her grandson had asked if they ever had mac 'n cheese for dinner, she told him yes and he responded "i think i'd like it there, then!". The western home is a different place now that her smile isn't warming it up. We are sure she touched the hearts of many as she touched ours.

Please accept our sincere condolences for the loss of your loved one. This is one of the most difficult things we must face in our life. May it comfort you to know that others are deeply touched by your loss. God assures us at Psalms 34:18 that he is near to those broken in heart and those crushed in spirit he saves. Jesus also promises that we will be able to see our loved ones again. Jesus own words found at John 5:28,29 tells us there will be a resurrection. What a wonderful hope! God says that soon on the earth there will be no more pain, suffering and especially death at Revelation 21:3-5 We anxiously await the day when we will no longer lose those we love. May these bible thoughts bring you comfort at this most difficult time.

I had the pleasure of teaching with Virginia for several years at Irving. I was a rookie classroom teacher, and she took me under her wing. She taught me to "wing it" when plans fell through, and she also taught me how to thread one of those old film projectors we used to have. What a class act-- loved her dry sense of humor!

Virginia was a key BETA volunteer for CedarNet from the very beginning. There were so many `episodes' that we shared in that office. Almost daily something would cause us grief to the point we nearly flipped a coin to see who was allowed to go crazy first. We became good friends in spite of her loyalty to a MAC. She was oh so proud of her kids, and no one had better grandchildren. I've been especially thinking of her lately with these military helicopter crashes. She would get SO quiet when that happened. Peace be with you one and all!

Virginia was an amazing educator, a role model to many. In her classes she inspired students to be all they could become. She had a special way teaching lifelong reading, a gift to so so many students. She loved her travel days with her family. I had the opportunity to teach for Virginia often.
