i just recently heard of Dane’s passing and am very saddened by it. Dane was a very closeand loyal friend to me in our younger years and we shared many great moments in high school on the swim team, working at the Taco House, and at college at Iowa State. He had an exceptional mind and great spirit.  I know that life threw him great challenges and i wish i could have stayed close to him in the years following our youth. The picture on his obituary is great! His knowing eyes and wry smile have not changed in 40 years!  Peace to you, my friend.

I am saddened by this news.. I would like Dane’s family to know they are in my thoughts and prayers. I was Dane’s roomate at Iowa State University. Dane was a great guy and a fun roomate. Although we lost contact over the years I think of Dane often. Although I am not able to attend the service today I will be thinking of Dane and his family and you have my deepest sympathy.

Dane, Although the miles had distanced us over the years, you were my best friend as we were growing up! From lifting weights, riding bikes, playing tennis and camping out in the backyard, to bus rides to swim meets. These are all some of my best memories, and all involved you.

Mrs. King, Kathy...Dane was a great friend gone way too soon! My deepest heart felt sympathy in this very, very difficult time!

    Aunt Shirley, Kathy and Kurt:

I was so sad to hear of the passing of Dane.  I remember all the "cousins" times we had and how much fun and laughter we enjoyed during those times.  We are sending our love. prayers and sympathy to embrace you during this time.  Lawrence King, Mike and Kristi King Niemann and family of Columbus, NE.
