Dear Dawn, your beautiful daughters, handsome grandsons, son-in-laws and Family,

We are sorry to read of Dave’s passing and the loss you are having to endure. May your Christian faith, love from family and friends and fond memories fill your hearts and comfort everyone in the weeks ahead. Dave always was smiling and cordial and these are things we treasure about having known him through the years.

He and Joe are East HS classmates.

Imagine this scenario: your beloved husband, father and grandpa patiently waiting just outside the pearly gates. There is a slight tension amongst those waiting for St. Peter to arrive and meet & greet everyone personally. Confident they will all be admitted, nobody is creating any trouble or a ruckus but they have been waiting, some of them for almost a whole day! There are getting to be quite a few people congregating together and there are no instructions posted. Figuring they must be held up for an unknown reason, the group of new admitants decide to put themselves in alphabetical order to speed up the process once the gate opens so St. Peter can quickly run through his list of names. So Dave is standing there having just said hello to a few people like Frush, Gamble and Gonzalez in front of him and Hanson and Jones behind him. All of a sudden the crowd now in perfect file at the gate to Heaven, quiets themselves as St. Peter with Jesus in tow approach the gates. There is a slight commotion coming from the back of the line. One more gentleman is making his way along the line greeting everyone along the way. The man cuts in line, right in front of Dave Neil Graham just as Peter will sing your beloveds name. A Cherub Angel tugs at the robe of Jesus and whispers something to the Savior. Jesus interrupts St. Peter so he can whisper to him. Worrying there may be a mix-up, Dave is a bit shaken. Jesus waves his hand, and announces that a long awaited and expected angel has finally arrived. Peter defers as Jesus announces the arrival of Mr. Graham. The man who cut in front of Dave steps forward hugs the Lord, shakes Peters hand and then turns back to Dave who is waiting patiently to hear his name called. The man motions for Dave to come forward and through the beautiful gates into Heaven. The Rev. Billy Graham shakes his head approvingly to the gate guards and embraces David Graham proclaiming yes, he is with me!

I am so very sorry.  I called on Dave when I sold radio advertising.  He was one of the nicest, kindest men I ever knew.  I really am sad to know he passed and will pray for your family at this difficult time.  God bless you all.
