    Donald R. Simon, 83, of Waterloo, died at Friendship Village Retirement Center on Monday, December 25, 2017, from complications of COPD. He was born November 11, 1934 in Parkersburg, son of John and Jeanne DuBois Simon and graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1954. He served in the United States Army, receiving an honorable discharge.

     He owned and operated Don's Mobile Brake and Windshield Repair, retiring in 1998. Don was a former member of the Waterloo Elks, Amvets, Eagles, and Moose Lodge.

     He is survived by his longtime companion, Dorothy Teeter of Waterloo; sisters, Pauline Engelking of Springfield, MO and Marcelle “Sally” Simon of Rockford, IL; a brother, Vern (Mary Ann) Simon of Parkersburg; and a sister in law, Janee Simon of Parkersburg.

     Don is preceded in death by four brothers: John, Ray, Dan and Russ Simon; and five sisters: Helen Terwilliger, Marguerite Fisher, Doris Evert, Darlene Smith, and Simone Simon in infancy.
