Biography

Karen Marie Harper, 56, of Waterloo, died on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center of respiratory failure.

 

She was born on March 17, 1963, in Waterloo, to Larry and Sharon Shook Amos and graduated from Central High School in 1981.

 

Karen worked at Ravenwood Nursing Home for 13 years.

 

She married Ross Wilson and they later divorced. She married Mike Harper August 16, 2002, in Waterloo.

 

Karen was a good pool player, loved to dance and listen to music. She loved her family and her husband, Mike who was the love of her life.

 

Karen is survived by her husband, Mike; son, Ian (Chelsea) Wilson‚ Orange Park‚ FL; grandson, Christian Wilson‚ Orange Park; her mother, Sharon Amos‚ Waterloo; three sisters, Julie Bolin‚ Waterloo, her twin, Kim Fowler‚ Bradenton‚ FL, and Becky Barron‚ Cedar Rapids; nieces, Sara Bolin and Carlee Miller; a nephew, Noah Schatz; and her cat, Angel.

 

She is preceded in death by her father; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Mary Shook; and paternal grandparents, Otto and Mary Amos.

    Karen and her twin Kim were my best friends,  the 3 of us were inseperable. I Love them like their are my sisters.  There mom Sharon was my 2nd mom.  I will miss her even though we live states apart our bond will last forever. Karen may you R.I.P. without pain.
