Kimberly Ann Buehrer, 62, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, December 23, 2018 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born on July 14, 1956, in Waterloo, the daughter of R. Scott and Ann Curtis Buehrer. She graduated from Waterloo West High School with the class of 1974 and attended Wartburg College.

Kimberly loved her many animal friends throughout the years and was a true “horse whisperer.” She loved her dogs, giving them all excellent care and love. She was an avid gardener and could make anything grow. Kimberly loved her family dearly, and was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, and cousin. She showed love to her family in so many ways especially by baking delicious rolls for family gatherings.

Kimberly was the hospice volunteer of the year in 2010. She appeared in community theater and took her beloved Chihuahuas to nursing homes. She enjoyed choral work, biking, hiking and anything outdoors. Kimberly went to her heavenly home for Christmas.

Kimberly is survived by her mother and stepfather, Ann (Melvin) Sickels of Waterloo; father and stepmother, R. Scott (Carolyn) Buehrer of Nashua, IA; two brothers, Timothy Buehrer of Waterloo, and Kenneth Buehrer of Cedar Falls; two half-sisters, Kariann (David) Kupka of Cedar Falls, and Kristin Lord of Lacrosse, WI; one stepsister, Ruth Ann (Rod) Hughes of Millers Ferry, AL; two stepbrothers, Jon Mark (Ok Cha) Sickels of Lawrenceville, GA, and Randy (Tonya) Sickels of Owensboro, KY; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents.

So terribly sorry for your loss.  Ann and I went all through school together.  I hope you  both receive some comfort from your faith, friends and family.  I can't even imagine the loss you must feel.  I have three daughters and it would be devastating if I lost one of them   My prayers go out to you both and your families.

Kimberly was a Dear Friend. We enjoyed

shopping local antique & thrift stores. Her

found "treasures" added whimsy to her

home & garden. Her Love of animals &

nature was contagious & gave me more of

an appreciation for both. I'm going to miss

    our tea times together, Amiga!

I only met and visited with Kimberly for a week last October. Her generous and loving spirit always will be with me. Cousins united after over 60 years, soul sisters forever. Wishing all her family and friends the healing of love.

kim was a good person and a great friend with a funny sense of humor.  My mother and I both were lucky to have reconnected with Kim at the Cedar Falls Public Library craft days.  Of course, Kim always called it *occupational therapy*.  Kim will be missed dearly.
