Services for Immediate Family will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2021 with burial in the Waterloo Cemetery.


Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00pm Monday, February 22, 2021 at the Locke Funeral Home. For those in attendance masks will be required. 


Waterloo Cemetery, Waterloo, Iowa


Memorials are directed to the Salvation Army, Westminster Presbyterian Church or Cedar Valley Hospice.


Lloyd C. Harp Jr., 93, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at the Deery Suites, Western Home Communities, Cedar Falls, Iowa.

He was born December 22, 1927 in Waterloo, son of Lloyd C. Sr. and Myrtle (Farr) Harp. He attended Hawkeye Community College. He served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II. Lloyd married Margaret M. Schmitt on June 14, 1945 in Waterloo.

He worked at John Deere in Methods Setup, retiring after 35 years in 1985. Over the years, he had a business fixing small engines. He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church where he was a Deacon, Usher and served on various committees over the years. Lloyd had been a member of the Waterloo American Legion Becker Chapman Post #138. He volunteered with Mended Hearts, Salvation Army, and helped with Meals on Wheels.

He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Margaret,  three sons, Charles (Virginia) Harp, Rod (Tracey) Harp, Randy (Jan) Harp, and a daughter, Peggy Bullerman, all of Waterloo; eight grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one brother, Duane (Karen) Harp of Gladbrook, Iowa; and one sister Darlene Bland of La Porte City, Iowa.

Lloyd is preceded in death by his son, Steven; son in law, Ivan Bullerman; one brother, Harry Beebe; and one sister, Louis Azbill.

    Rod, Tracey and the Harp Family

    What a man, he worked hard, married a wonderful woman and with her help they raised a great family.  I always liked Lloyd and Margret they were always together doing things. It was always nice to see them.  We are sorry for your loss and I am sure the whole family has lots of memories of him.     So very sorry for your loss! What a great man! Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time! I always had so much fun on the trips my parents and I went on to the NCAA Wrestling Tournaments with Lloyd and Margaret. I will never forget later in life just casually running into them in Las Vegas and getting to have lunch with them! God Bless and Rest in Peace!

    Sorry to here about the passing of your father.  He certainly lived a long and productive life while raising a great family.  Great that you have all of your family in the Waterloo area and can get together often.  Although with that many you might need name tags.
