Melba was certainly one special lady.  I met her at Retired School Personal Meetings at Friendship Village.  She was always smiling and played the Happy Birthday song when we celebrated members' birthdays.  She also played Christmas carols at one of our December meetings.  Her willingness to call members for our lunch count was a great help too for the organization.  Oh the joy of meeting special people even if for a little while.

Mrs. Shank was my 3rd grade teacher at Dunkerton in 1970-71 and I remember her as a teacher with a caring smile and gentle demeanor. May she rest in peace!
