    Dean and family,

I'm so sorry to hear this news. I knew her health was declining, but still is hard to see her go. It was so good to see her at our class reunion a year ago-- I know it was hard on her, but she was so determined to be there; thank you for working so hard to help her get there so we could all be with her and see her again. I met Pam in elementary school-- man, can't recall the year, but know we were still at the country school-- the one room schoolhouse! Maybe in 3rd grade? They lived just down the road and I was so excited to have her and Sherry as 'close by' playmates! In high school, she was in a number of classes with me and I know I relied on her as a study buddy to help me with homework from time to time-- I always admired her math mind! We lost touch and I am sorry for that... she was such a kind person and I loved visiting with her when she'd be back in town.

Your family has our sympathy as you face life without her. I'm sorry for this loss.

Oh, Dean, I have been thinking about Pam quite a bit lately. I was so happy to see her at the last reunion. Thank you for making sure she made it. Pam was very welcoming when I came to Independence as a freshman. We had lots of laughs and chats. Then when I moved to Waterloo, we got to reconnect. She was VERY helpful when I had my first child. I'm not sure she knew what she was walking in on when she showed up in the middle of a new mom meltdown! I really appreciated her calming support, experience, and willing to laugh when I was ready for that. I am sorry that I did not keep in touch as much as I should have in the last few years. I hope you were able to make lots of good memory moments on your trip in 2017.
