Pat Woolman Hollis, 97, of Friendship Village, died at Lakeview Landing at Friendship Village, Friday, August 9, 2019.

Pat was born April 28, 1922, in Lincoln, IA, the daughter of Claus H. and Helena Harders Mildenstein. She graduated from East High School in 1940.  Pat married Hubert G. “Lefty” Woolman January 1, 1941 in Waterloo; he died February 23, 1984.  She married J. Gordon Hollis March 21, 1987 in Waterloo; he died August 5, 2008.

She worked for Rath Packing Company, J.C. Penney, and retired from Cadillac Lanes after 15 years at the control desk. She was a member of Amvets Post #19 Auxiliary and the Waterloo Bowling Association.  Pat enjoyed bowling (she twice bowled a 600 series), cards, crafts, but above all loved spending time with her family and friends.  She was a “HUGGER” and loved to give hugs and receive them.  Maybe that was why she never met a stranger who wasn’t soon a friend.

    Dear Hollis family,

I'd like to express my condolence and deep regrets for your loss and share where I found help at such a time as this when I lost my entire family to our enemy death.   I found comfort and hope in what I read in Jehovah Gods word the Bible at John5L28,29 there it tells us we'll see our love ones again in the resurrection when Jesus brings them back here on earth and also at Isaiah25:8 we're told that this enemy death will be gone forever.    With these scriptures along with I'm able to cope with my loss and get through each day because now I know I'll see my love ones again and so can you.    I wanted to share this with you now when hope and comfort is needed hoping that this will help you also in some way for this is my purpose in sharing this with you at this time and please know that I do share your grief and hope you'll feel free to let me know if this helped.   I hope to hear from you.    Sincerely,    GM
