Thelma Amelia Dick, age 100, of Waterloo, died at Sunset Park Place in Dubuque on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. 

She was born on June 10, 1917 in Spooner, Wisconsin; the daughter of Howard Cyrus and Erma (Silcox) Titus. 

She attended nursing school in St. Paul, Minnesota at Anchor Hospital. 

Thelma married Fred Dick on December 12, 1938 in Indianapolis, IN; he preceded her in death on November 2, 2000.

She worked as an RN while her husband served in WWII, and later was a homemaker.
Thelma was a member of Prairie Rapids Doll Club for 25 years, Allen Women's Auxiliary, and Westminster Presbyterian Church for 40 years.

Thelma loved reading, animals, and helping others. She enjoyed time at the family cabin in Northern Wisconsin. For over 30 years she created and sold many Thelma Dick porcelain dolls.  She was also an accomplished china painter, built numerous wall clocks and grandfather clocks, built and restored furniture, and made quilts for family members. Most of all, Thelma cherished time with her family.

Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie (Daniel) Dunham of Balltown; a son, Fred R. (Donna) Dick of Iowa City; a daughter, Patricia (Robert) McCabe of Waterloo; a son, John H. Dick of West Branch; six grandchildren: Dave Dunham, Doug Dunham, Kevin Dee, Melanie Gracey, Jennifer Dick, Steve Smith; and eight great-grandchildren: Hannah Dunham, Nick Jones, Kaylan Dunham, Emily Dunham, David Dunham, Caroline Gracey, Harrison Gracey, and Jonathan Gracey.

She was preceded in death by her husband; and two brothers, Bud Titus and Kenneth Titus.
